(M) Beethoven is a great musician in Europe. He was born in Germany in 1770. At the age of four, his father began to make him practice different musical instruments for long hours. If he didn’t put his heart into it, his father would beat him. Beethoven was so smart that he learned music fast. As a boy of eleven, he was able to go around giving concerts. When he was seventeen, he won high praise from Mozart. However, he became deaf at the age of thirty-one. But he still went on working and writing music pieces. In fact, some of his best pieces were written after he lost his hearing. In 1827, leaving more than 300 pieces of wonderful music, the great musician passed away. But his name and works are still remembered to this day.

I like these kinds of music because they make me lively. They help wake me up in the morning. My father likes listening to country music while driving a car, or travelling by train or by bus. He thinks music is an expression of people and that we can know a lot about a person by just listening to the music that he or she likes. It is simply fantastic.

Music helps us a lot. It brings us a great world that looks colorful and fantastic. There are many kinds of music all over the world and my favorite kind of music is pop music. It began in the US at the beginning of the 20th century. It’s a kind of music that has short lyrics and simple subjects. Pop music is made up of other kinds of music such as jazz, rock and rap. Pop music is my favorite because it’s easy to understand. It’s the music that has to do with real life. Whenever I’m happy or sad, I’m used to singing a piece of pop music to excite myself. For me, pop music is something that moves me a lot. How do you like it?
