An Emergency Drill in Yucai Middle School
In order to develop the students’ ability to deal with emergencies, an emergency drill was offered by our school on October fifth.
During the drill, not only did the security guards show us how to escape in an earthquake, but also we were taught the ways to escape from natural disasters and fires. After that, we all took part in a practical drill, in which we put what we had learned into practice. Happily, nobody failed in the drill.

Paragraph 1
Hearing her invitation, my heart was filled with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I felt good that I was the only fan who got the opportunity. I admired Jennifer Capriati very much and really wanted to stay with her a little longer. On the other hand, I was very afraid of riding a roller coaster. However, I must take the chance and it didn’t take much time to make my decision. I nodded my head and went to a roller coaster with her.
Paragraph 2
My friend caught up with me and asked, “Are you sure that you want to take a roller coaster?” “Yes,” I answered. “This is the only chance for me to ride a roller coaster with my heroine.” My friend was surprised; she had spent years trying to persuade me to do that. Fears of heights and moving too fast seemed unimportant now. Although I screamed during the entire time like a girl being chased by an axe killer, I finally survived. That chance of meeting with Jennifer Capriati helped me overcome my fear. And since then, I have lived in a world where I am a bit braver.
