The table shows the popularity of different movie genres by percentage of population in a certain city. "Comedy"(85%) claims the first place, followed by "action" (69%) and "suspense"(67%). "Romance"(52% ) and "science fiction" (50%) complete the top five.Xgi答案圈

In terms of the causes behind this situation, two factors are at play. For one thing, all the five types satisfy some human needs beyond the basics. Comedies make people laugh; action/suspense movies are excitingand thrilling to watch; romance movies attract people because everyone is romantic at heart; science fiction movies allow people to temporarily escape from reality and free their imagination. For another, as the movie industry develops, more and more movies contain funny stories and humorous lines, a change that has gradually given the audience an image that humor is part of a good movie.
