(1)There goes the saying, “All things are difficult before they are easy.” [Life isn’t a bed of roses. Things tend to start out in a messy way. But as we tread the muddy path with doubts and perplexity, we gradually figure out the way as we go, and that’s when things somehow become easy.
(2)The proverb reminds me of one of my learning experiences. I first got to know figure skating in the 2008 Olympics via television. Mesmerized by the elegance and beauty of the sport, I couldn’t wait to have a try. I soon signed up for an ice-skating course and practiced it every Sunday. The very first time I laid foot on the ice field, I slipped and fell. It was one thing to see athletes skate effortlessly, but quite another to do it myself. For the first two months, I solely focused on practicing skating forward and maintaining balance, staying upright so as not to fall. However, months passed, and I was still skating at a speed of a snail.Years flown by; now I can pull off all kinds of stunts on the ice field and smoothly skate backward and sidewards. I find it not that difficult after all.
(3)It’s hard to go watch things ahead., but quite easy to see how dots are connected when we look back. That’s why things are always difficult at the beginning.]4 Not only do we not understand the technical know-how, which referred to skating skills in my case, but we also go through the mental odyssey of not knowing, as I cast doubts on my abilities when I first learned skating. But as we hone our skills, things will get easy. Time will tell.
(4)Arduous as the journey may be, it’s vital that we don’t lose faith. All things are difficult before they are easy. [The sun will meet the eye after the rain.
